Pros:I've owned this board since 6/2009, it's been going strong since!I originally ran it with an i7-920 that I managed to push up to 4.3ghz, but ran at 3.8ghz daily for about 6 years.Earlier this year I upgraded to a Xeon 5650(6 core 32nm CPU) and plugged in into my Rampage II Extreme. Originally it didn't work, and I had to put my old CPU Back in, turns out the board needed a BIOS update to get it working.

Once I updated the BIOS the Xeon 5650 was working perfectly in the motherboard. Also upgraded to 1.5V RAM from the 1.65V I was running before. With the 'new' Xeon 5650, I have it running at 4ghz on air right now 24/7.I can't believe it's been running for so long though! I've run many different kinds of GPUs on it as well, from a GTX 275-GTX460-GTX560-GTX670FTW-2xRadeon 7950 Cross Fire, and I'll be upgrading again soon once Pascal comes out!I plan on keeping this motherboard + Xeon 5650 running for another 3+ years since at 4ghz my CPU is more than competitive enough with the latest ones from Intel.Cons:Lacks some newer features, like USB 3.0 and PCI Express 3.0.I did compensate for that though by purchasing and installing a $20 USB 3.0 PCIExpress card.Overall Review:I can't believe it's lasted for so long and works great! Definitely wasn't a cheap purchase, but it's paid for itself in the life it's achieved. Pros:beautiful MB, plenty of options built-inCons:Never kept working for more than two months for me.

I have owned this MB for about one year and 9 months and have gone through maybe '50' times of restore or reinstall. Yes, FIFTY times, for a while I am so used to restore the computer every morning. Thanks to Asus, I have developed a very good habit of backing up computer every day since I own this MB. Advanced replaced once but I am so afraid of going through window authentication process with different MB!!Overall Review:Too much trouble with setting up DRAM with this MB, I am not a overclocker and I knew I made a mistake pusrchasing this model!! At least, Asus should be able to provide an idiot proof mode for people like me. Leadership and performance beyond expectations bass 1985 pdf to excel.

For almost two years, I was blaming on virus, random crash.but now I am pretty sure it is the compatibility issue between MB and DRAM!! Pros:Nice Looking MBCons:in the begining, works as I expected but later failed and warranty replaced, so far so good.

After I got replacement( Advance replacement service was excellent). Ever since I got replacement, trouble start and getting worse and worse, blue screen error). Update bios and drivers, no improvement. About 10 days ago, more than dozen time shuted off.About 6 mon ago, I tried to ask Adv Replacement service, they said no stocks available, tried a few time no luck. Finally too many times shut off(about 10 days ago).

Asus

I decided try another brand, Intel extreme MB. Unfortunetly, SSR(OCZ 200G, it also once warranty replaced) failed. Now I am using Hard drive, ever since bring up the system, never have any error, using same Win7 Pro, all other software installed same ASUS Rampage 2 Extreme.

I have 2 more ASUS MB other than Rampage, others never have problem or errors. Now I am waiting for RMA to replace the MB.Overall Review:I really don't know, I am the only one having problem.Because of so much headache, trying to stay away ASUS. I could've bought Rampage 3 but went to other brand. Pros:Once again the Asus team has come through with a remarkable MB.

MB does as it was supposed to do as designed by the Engineers at Asus. This is my fourth from Asus and Posted up easy as cheezy. I have tried at least 8 different boards for building in the last 15 years including Abit which was the industries best but lost that crown to Asus. Their had been a couple of bad reviews written including bad boards of problems @ posting so this is what I would recommend to those that had problems: Did you de-static yourself before your build ( static electricity is the biggest killer of builds) De-stat can be accomplished by touching something metal before you touch any of your new cp parts. Ok Posting problems Did you put the ram in the right slot. I had made this mistake before check your MFG for which slot to use as you 1-2-3-4-5-6 slot if you are using two sticks of ram in put them in the 2-4 slot your MB will not post. Bottom line is don't be afraid to ask Good luck in your buildCons:No CONS great board Great MFG.
